Imagine watching your family suffer, with no one to help

Billions of people lack access to safe surgeries. Syria is in the midst of a devastating civil war, and more than 11.3 million people are in need of health assistance. The recent earthquakes have made their situation even worse. Physicians Across Continents (PAC) deploy surgeons to carry out complex surgeries that are unavailable in vulnerable parts of the world due to high costs or lack of expertise. We also train local staff and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality healthcare is still available in between our visits.
We provide life-changing surgeries for:
  • Cleft lip and palate
  • Thyroid
  • Hernia
  • Obstetric fistula
Abdul Rahman is a 4-year-old boy who had fibroma, a benign tumour of the oral cavity. For the past two years, he had been unable to eat or breathe properly and was teased by other children for the way he looked. Unable to go to school, he went from a boy full of life to someone who had lost his confidence, felt very isolated, and suffered mental health issues.

PAC provided the hospital with specialist surgeons and a pediatric anaesthesiologist to perform the surgery Abdhul needed. It made a significant difference to the lives of Abdul and his family. After three months he will undergo facial reconstruction surgery. With your support we can give more kids like Abdul life-changing surgery, so they can have their lives back, and feel joy again.
Safwan is 1 year old who has been sick since he was born. His family noticed his head was increasing in size. They took him to the hospital where he received medicine, but his head continued to increase in size. He hasn’t been able to sit up for three months.

PAC sponsored the surgery he needed and now his head is decreasing in size. Thanks to generous donors, Safwan is feeling much better, and his mother is very happy. “Thank you so much. May Allah reward you.”

Give healthcare, give hope

Reflect on the importance of health this month

A pregnant woman or newborn dies every 11 seconds. Physicians Across Continents provides a 12-month program to vulnerable mothers including a birthing book, pre-natal clinic appointments, scans, vitamin/supplements, a safe, supervised birth in a maternity hospital, birthing gift, vaccination, post-natal care and psychological support.

“Coming here and giving them these services gives us a reward as Muslims. Saving one life is as if you’ve saved the whole of mankind.”

90% of deaths related to natural disasters occur in developing countries. PAC helps first responders reach victims on the ground as soon as possible following a disaster. We are truly a global team of volunteer medical professionals and are strategic about leveraging local expertise to have the most significant impact possible.

Mental health is as important as physical health, and the two are intrinsically linked. PAC manages mental well-being programs in some of the most hostile countries in the world. Together we can help people heal from the horrors of conflict and disaster they cannot escape. Our aim is to help people relieve stress, build resiliency, and feel hope.

“Whoever alleviates a needy person, Allah will alleviate in this world and the next.”

About Us

Physicians Across Continents is a leading provider of medical aid during humanitarian crises.

We train and equip local medical staff and hospitals to better support the building of healthcare infrastructure in vulnerable countries. By increasing local capacity, we ensure our work continues benefitting people long after we’ve left.

With your help, we can do what’s needed to provide relief during times of crisis. We’re not funded by governments or institutions, but by your donations, compassion, and kindness. When an emergency strikes, it's up to us. Together we can save many lives in Syria!

Please donate your Sadaqah and Zakat to Physicians Across Continents.

Yes! We are a UK based Charity. Our Charity number: 1168289

Will my donations be used only for Africa? Where will my money be spent?

As a Physicians Across Continents donor, you fuel the delivery of medical aid and all our services to the people who need it most, no matter where they are, who they are, their religion or whether they have hit the headlines.

Your money pays for hundreds of thousands of consultations, operations, treatments and preventative programmes every year. Here at Physicians Across Continents, your hard-earned money is our trust and we work to spend your money in the most efficient way and to help those in greatest need and were we can, the highest impact.

At Physicians Across Continents we deliver care directly rather than through local partner organisations. We set up and run medical services, train staff and respond to fast-moving emergencies and we are embedded within the communities we serve. This means the money you have entrust to Physicians Across Continents is spent by Physicians Across Continents to where you want it to be spent.

We do not take from one pool of money and spend it on another project, no matter how urgent it may seem. Unless you give us permission through your donations and you have specified to us to spend your donations where it is most needed or our general fund.

There are essential costs for any organisation and a small percentage of the money we raise – just TBC – is used for office running costs in the UK.

Each aspect of the way we operate from our office is designed to keep these essential costs low. We rent inexpensive office space, we buy only the lowest fares for travel and stay in budget hotels when travelling abroad.

UK Donors - How is my Gift Aid Money Spent?

Gift Aid money is spent on admin costs and to raising more money. Without it more of donors’ money would have to be spent on fundraising & admin leaving less for projects.

What forms of Payment do you accept for donations?

Credit Card, Debit Card, Paypal, UK Bank Transfer, Google Pay, Apple Pay.
